Xenia Lodge No. 50, F. & A.M. (P.H.A.), was instituted on October 23, 1911, by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the State of New York under the leadership of Most Worshipful Henry Spencer, Grand Master. The Lodge was erected by Deputy Grand Master C. C. Jackson, Past Master Jessie D. Phillips, and Brother William H. Spencer. Past Master Henry Scott and Past Master Samuel Davis were instrumental in organizing the class that led to the Lodge’s formation, while Brother William H. Spencer served as Master under dispensation.
The first elected officers of Xenia Lodge No. 50 were Henry Scott, Worshipful Master; C. P. McClendon, Senior Warden; R. B. Costa, Junior Warden; E. Eccles, Treasurer; Samuel J. Davis, Secretary; David C. Harris, Senior Deacon; and Joseph Bullock, Junior Deacon.
From its earliest days, Xenia Lodge has been a pillar of leadership, service, and vision. Past Master Joseph Bullock is credited as the originator of the first Masonic District United Sermon Committee and the “District Association,” which grew from that effort.
Throughout its proud history, the members of Xenia Lodge No. 50 have remained active in community life politically, socially, and religiously, while also making a lasting impact within Prince Hall Masonry. The Lodge has produced distinguished leaders at the highest levels, including two Grand Masters, one Grand High Priest, Grand Trustees, a Grand Lecturer, District Deputy Grand Masters, District Deputy Grand Lecturers, Grand Chaplains, Special Deputy Grand Masters, and other notable officers who have served with honor and distinction.
For more than a century, Xenia Lodge No. 50 has stood as a beacon of brotherhood, leadership, service, and excellence. Its legacy continues through the dedicated men who uphold its principles and carry its mission forward for future generations.
Since 1911, Xenia Lodge No. 50 has remained committed to faith, fellowship, leadership, and service to the community.
